Scholarship Program
The founders of DiRōNA had one simple idea in mind: To preserve and promote the ultimate experience in distinguished dining.
To further this core mission, the DiRōNA Award Scholarship Fund was established to bring young students who share the love of food - its origin, its preparation, and its presentation - into the culinary world.
Since its founding in 1989, the Fund has helped countless students to pursue careers in the restaurant and hospitality industry.
Recipients are selected through a rigorous review of applications from throughout North America. Applicants must distinguish themselves as having a genuine interest in seeking a culinary education in preparation for a professional foodservice career.
At a minimum, 8 DiRōNA scholarships are given each year through the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. Annually, DiRōNA honors its industry partners, media patrons, and past chairmen through the scholarship program.
As Ted Balestreri, president and CEO of the Sardine Factory and past DiRōNA Chairman notes, "The gift of an education is rewarding; the end result is immeasurable. The knowledge of food and wine and hospitality is a gift to share, and we are proud to help promote the education of the best in our field."
The DiRōNA Award Scholarship Fund is managed and administered by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. Applicants should contact Susan Vogel, Director, Scholarships and Mentoring Initiative, at:
